A conversation over lunch...

Nora: Ewww, this grape has a booger on it!
Me: I don't think it's a booger
Nora: Yes, it is! You eat it.
Me: No thanks, we'll just throw it away.
Sophie: I've eaten a booger before!
Me: You have?
Sophie: Well, I've sucked on one.
Me: How did it taste?
Sophie: Salty.

Growing too fast

During our vacation Miles got used to either being rocked or nursed to sleep. So today for his nap I let him cry it out :( It only took about 5 minutes and he never cried really hard so it was endurable for me. My baby is growing too fast! He's such a sweet little boy!

I was trying to put the girls to bed tonight and had the following conversation with Sophie:

Sophie: Mom, are we really on vacation - or am I just dreaming it?

Me: Yep, we really are on a vacation.

Sophie: So we're not just on tv?

Me: No, we are real people.

Sophie: Oh, sometimes I think we are on tv and a man and his two boys and his wife are watching us

Me: Really? That's kind of funny.

Sophie: It might be fun to be on tv. Like Rachel MaRay (that's what she calls Rachel Ray)

Me: Yeah, It might be.

Sophie: I'm scared

Me: Of what?

Sophie: I keep having monster thoughts

Me (as I'm walking out the door): Okay, I'll leave the door open for you.

Sophie (crying): No! 

Me: Then what do you need?

Sophie (still crying): I just need a grown- up!
